Después de casi dos siglos, un precioso códice iluminado vuelve a un monasterio femenino situado a los pies de la cordillera Cantábrica. El Beato de San Andrés de Arroyo --hoy propiedad de la Biblioteca Nacional de Francia-- regresa al cenobio que lo poseyó durante seiscientos años. Han sido incontables las gestiones necesarias para que las autoridades galas lo autoricen. Todos los esfuerzos se dan por bien empleados porque la obra es la pieza estrella de una exposición sobre la que descansan muchas esperanzas. Sin embargo, las ilusiones generadas se verán truncadas cuando, la noche previa a la inauguración, el códice es mutilado. El robo de dos páginas que contienen un misterioso mapamundi medieval desencadena una carrera contrarreloj para recuperar una obra de arte que es mucho más de lo que aparenta. En los trazos que representan ciudades, mares y montañas se esconde un mensaje sobre el fin de los días que ya nadie sabe leer y que muchos parecen desear. Miguel, un guardia civil que ha sufrido un duro revés en su carrera, y Rocío, la hija de un erudito sevillano desaparecido el día antes del robo, unirán fuerzas para intentar descifrarlo. Profundizando en los enigmas que dieron forma a una de las etapas más fascinantes de nuestra historia, buscarán las claves que permiten vislumbrar quién está detrás del golpe. Su afán los arrastrará a una aventura en la que la desconfianza y las intrigas tejen una red sin escapatoria. After almost two centuries, a beautiful illuminated codex returns to a female monastery located at the foot of the Cantabrian mountain range. The Blessed of San Andrés de Arroyo - now owned by the National Library of France - returns to the monastery that owned it for six hundred years. There have been countless steps necessary for the French authorities to authorize it. All efforts are considered well spent because the work is the star piece of an exhibition on which many hopes rest. However, the illusions generated will be truncated when, the night before the inauguration, the codex is mutilated. The theft of two pages containing a mysterious medieval world map triggers a race against time to recover a work of art that is much more than meets the eye. In the lines that represent cities, seas and mountains there is a message about the end of days that no one can read anymore and that many seem to wish. Miguel, a civil guard who has suffered a severe setback in his career, and Rocío, the daughter of a Sevillian scholar who disappeared the day before the robbery, will join forces to try to decipher it. Delving into the enigmas that shaped one of the most fascinating stages in our history, they will look for the keys that allow us to glimpse who is behind the coup. Their eagerness will drag them into an adventure in which distrust and intrigues weave a web without escape. Straddling Castilian and Andalusian lands, the couple will feel the breath of a danger, first diffuse, and later, concrete and sharp as a razor.
