Description
Popular rock star Conrad Birdie faces an Army draft, prompting his manager to arrange a nationwide contest for a farewell kiss on The Ed Sullivan Show. In 1958, Albert Peterson, Conrad's manager, concocts a plan with his secretary Rosie to have Conrad sing a song on the show and kiss a randomly chosen high school girl before joining the Army, paving the way for Albert to marry Rosie. Columbus, Ohio is selected for the farewell performance, and the lucky girl chosen is Kim MacAfee, causing a stir in the town of Sweet Apple.
